Common questions
Does Massarrah work offline?
Yes — core lessons, practice, games, and sign audio all work fully offline. Once the app is installed, no internet connection is required to learn. Optional services that do use the network (anonymous analytics, crash reporting, future cloud sync) only run when a connection is available and never block your progress.
How do I delete my learning data?
Inside the app, open Settings → Advanced → Delete All Data. This permanently removes your progress, streaks, achievements, and preferences from the device.
Uninstalling the app removes all local data as well. See our Privacy Policy for what (if anything) lives outside the device.
Can I export my progress, or move it to a new device?
You can export a JSON snapshot of your data via Settings → Advanced → Export My Data. Save it somewhere safe — it's a complete record of your learning history.
Optional cross-device sync is on our roadmap. Until that ships, the export is the most reliable way to carry progress to a new device.
The sign audio isn't playing — what should I check?
First, check that your device isn't on silent mode. Massarrah respects the system silent switch by default.
If audio is still missing, open Settings → Audio in the app and tap Reset Audio System. If the issue continues, email support@massarrah.app with your device model and what you were doing — audio bugs are almost always device-specific and we'd like to fix yours.
How do I report a bug or suggest a feature?
Email support@massarrah.app. The most useful reports include:
• What you were trying to do
• What happened instead
• Your device model (e.g. iPhone 16 Pro Max) and OS version
• The app version (visible in Settings → About)
If you can include a screenshot, please double-check it doesn't contain personal information first.
Is the historical content accurate?
Yes. Sign readings, tablet attributions, and historical context are grounded in published Assyriology scholarship — and we cite sources for major claims inside the app.
If you spot something you believe is wrong, please write to us with the specifics. Cuneiform studies is an active field and we update the content as scholarship evolves.
How do refunds work?
Massarrah is free, and any optional purchases (the tip jar) are handled entirely by Apple. We never see or process your payment information.
For refunds, please use reportaproblem.apple.com — Apple manages all billing decisions.
